Joymii review

What is Joymii? To put it simply, it's a European-based adult site that features gorgeous models in romantic, natural scenes. If your tastes lean to the softer side of hardcore porn then you're apt to like what Joymii offers. When you do join you'll have access to lots of scenes and photos with strikingly beautiful women in well shot and produced scenes in natural settings and natural positions.
It's the sister site of FEMJOY, which focuses on beautiful solo nudes, whereas Joymii is more explicit.

UPDATE, June 2022: Joymii is now part of Adult Time. All Joymii members get access to the entire library of the Adult Time network, and vice versa.

The site's been around since October 2010. It had been an independent site up until recently when it became part of the Gamma Entertainment group. Not much has changed though, I believe the same team is producing their high quality scenes. Joymii has always had a particular feel to it and if the more recent offerings here are any indication, then Gamma understands this and the value it has to subscribers. Why mess with success?

The Joymii scenes themselves all have a sensuality to them that really make them stand out. Joymii offers a great mix of B/G, G/G, some threesomes and solo/masturbation. I don't generally collect G/G or solo scenes but I was compelled to add some to my collection from Joymii simply because they are so hot and so well produced.

The scenes don't offer a lot of plot or set up but this doesn't detract from them at all. Joymii isn't a site focused on one theme so there is less of a need to have a plot in place to serve that theme. The sex itself is sensual, romantic and much more natural than on harder edged sites. But don't think it's any less hot because of it, because it isn't. If you like some sensuality in your scenes then Joymii is for you. One minor thing to note about the scenes is that because they aim to be more natural, there are fewer facial finishes than you'll find on harder sites. There are certainly facials here but they aren't predominant. Most scenes finish with the guy pulling out and coming on the woman's back or stomach depending on the position they are in.

Joymii started in late 2010 with the first scenes being uploaded in late September. All of the first scenes are either solo or G/G with B/G scenes starting to be added in 2011.

All of the scenes, regardless of the type or upload date, bring professional production values to the table. The scenes are all well shot and well edited. The sound and lighting are top-quality as well.

While most of the models here are European and Russian, they have some well-known American models as well. Regardless of the model's nationality or ethnicity, the one thing they all have in common is their physical beauty. It's also worth noting that most of the models are top-tier and well-known. If you collect European scenes you will know most of the models here and Joymii is a great opportunity to add to your collection.

Even though Joymii has now become part of the Gamma family it hasn't adopted the Gamma look and layout. The current Joymii layout has always been logical and easy to use on all devices, from desktop to mobile.

Joymii has many search options to help you find what you're looking for but some of those search options are a bit unusual. There aren't a lot of options to search for specific sex acts. Unlike many other sites, there is no easy way to search for things like 69, facials or anal sex. But, in fairness to Joymii, even if that is a negative, they certainly make up for it in the ability to search for specific traits or attributes with each model. If you go to the “Model” tab on the site you'll find that there are pull-down menus for ethnicity, hair colour and breast size. But you'll also notice that other attributes, such as zodiac sign, eye colour and height are also listed for most models. While there are no pull-down menus for these attributes they are still searchable. So, if you have a particular interest in models born under the Capricorn zodiac sign, Joymii will let you find them easily.

The only complaint I have with Joymii is a relatively common issue with sites that feature European and Russian models, namely that many of these models use multiple stage names throughout their careers. Joymii doesn't necessarily make this any easier because most models are listed by first name and initial only, and in some of those cases that's still misleading. For example, I went to Lily Carter's model page because I recognized her in the thumbnail even though she is listed as “Lily B.” here at Joymii. Nancy Ace is “Jane F.”.
I realize this isn't a big deal for most people. I catalogue all my collected porn by model name so it's a bit frustrating for me though I'm also able to identify most of the models just from personal experience. But, someone with less experience in collecting porn might find it frustrating. That person might find a model they really like and search for her elsewhere not knowing that she has multiple stage names and, in many cases, has a last name that isn't listed here at Joymii. But as I said, this really is the only negative on the site and it's a minor one at that.

Joymii offers a lot of value to people to both video and photo collectors. Many, though not all, of the video shoots have an accompanying photo set. From the main page a subscriber can sort by all scenes, videos only or photos only. One thing that Joymii does that I appreciate is that on the thumbnail for each of the scenes or photo sets there is a small annotation saying which it is. I'm primarily a video collector so I appreciated knowing just by the thumbnail which were photos and which were videos.

Speaking of thumbnails, moving your mouse over any scene thumbnail gives additional information. It's important to note this because for the first while I was a member I didn't notice this and assumed that Joymii didn't feel that providing some scene information was important. But once I realized that this information was available simply by moving my mouse over a thumbnail it became intuitive. The information provided this way includes the scene name, the female star(s), the date uploaded and the number of “likes” the scene has received.

I found that downloading either photos or videos was simple and easy. For both, there are a lot of options available. You can find the resolutions and other details in the Videos and Photos table of this review.

One element of video resolution is that even dating back to the beginning of the site there were multiple options for which resolution you wanted and back in 2010 some of these would be cutting edge. The good news is that if you are downloading scenes from the earliest days of Joymii you'll get great looking Full HD MP4 videos and high res photo galleries.
The bad news is that Joymii has yet to add 4K as an option on their newer scenes. Bitrates have improved marginally over the years but they could be a bit higher at this point. For those rare people who prefer WMV files you are in luck: every Joymii video offers WMV in one resolution.

As of this writing, there are currently 822 exclusive Joymii videos, plus a few bonus ones from EroticaX. You can expect about 2 new exclusive videos every week, plus a bonus one occasionally. The average scene length is approximately 25 minutes though some scenes, even some of the sex scenes, come in much shorter. But, on the other end of the spectrum, there are scenes that last well over 30 minutes as well.

As I noted above, photo collectors will also find a lot to like here at Joymii. Almost every video scene has an accompanying photo set, there are 801 in total, and they look great. Newer galleries are available in 5760px, but even the old ones are 3000px and great looking. Photos are available either as singles or as zips. While the number of photos per set varies widely the average is around 80 photos per set.

I found downloads to be both fast and stable. I had no issues with downloads failing or timing out. I didn't encounter any download limits or throttling so if those exist they are set at reasonable levels that the average user probably wouldn't ever notice. I use a download manager with an acceleration feature and had no problems using that here.

It's easy for me to recommend Joymii. Even for someone like me who prefers porn with a harder edge I really enjoy watching the scenes they offer here. The models are strikingly beautiful and the scenes are well shot. There is a lot of variety and something is offered for people who like B/G, lesbian or solo scenes. If you like all three of those then you'll definitely love this site. You'll come across some amazing scenes, the camerawork, lighting and editing is all professional. Then this is all bundled up on a website that is logical and easy to use. No matter how you approach Joymii, you'll find a lot to like here.
