Digital Playground review

Digital Playground is one of the biggest and most successful porn studios in USA. They have released hundreds of big budget movies, with plots and A-list porn stars. They have won tons of industry awards too, and many of their DVDs were best-selling titles. Since 2012, the new owner is Mindgeek, the parent company of Brazzers. They operate the DP website now, and they've given it a new look and feel.

If you subscribe the Digital Playground website, you get access to over 3600 Videos (scenes), and over 510 Full-length Movies (which were also released as DVDs/Blurays). There is a big overlap there, most scenes are from the DVDs. It's up to you if you prefer to browse the content organized by Movie or Scene.
Apparently there are more and more standalone scenes now though, so even if you're mainly into the feature movies, check out the Videos section regularly.

An important thing that I should mention early on is that this site is streaming-only for regular members. This means that normal members can watch all of the movies and scenes on the website, but they cannot download them. To get access to the downloads, you need to upgrade your membership to a Premium status, which is extra money. The regular membership costs $17.99 per month with our discount, and the Premium upgrade is $20-30 from the members' area, depending on your location.

If you're into American porn stars, you'll love Digital Playground. They pretty much have everyone. Today's biggest stars like Brandi Love, Eva Lovia, Alexis Fawx, Chanel Preston, Cassidy Klein, Blair Williams, August Ames, Megain Rain, and Ava Addams. They also have most of the biggest porn stars of the past 10 years. Think Jesse Jane, Riley Steele, BiBi Jones, Stoya, Kayden Kross, Sasha Grey, Jenna Haze, Devon, Teagan Presley, and Tera Patrick. Some of these girls actually had an exclusive contract with Digital Playground at some point.
DigitalPlayground has been quite big tits centric in the past. There are still plenty of busty babes in the recent updates too, but there's a good amount of natural babes now as well.

If you can call some porn mainstream, this is it. A lot of the movies have a simple plot or theme. Digital Playground even did some big budget porn parodies, such as "Star Wars Underworld: A XXX Parody", "Kill Bill: A XXX Parody", and "Pirates". The scenes have some light, entertaining acting, then great wild sex with great camerawork. There's no censorship or anything, it is hardcore action once the sex starts. There are some gonzo series, but the story-based movies are more common here. Among the new scenes, you'll find many videos with stepfamily affair stories.

If you venture to to the older parts of their archives, you'll find many of their famous series, such as Island Fever, Jack's Playground, Jack's POV, and Jack's Teen America. The oldest pages of the archives have many oldschool flicks too. Back then it was a thing to put smooth background music in porn, giving it an erotic atmosphere. Digital Playground has a big behind the scenes library, 357 videos at the moment.

The videos look great, the site has a huge Full HD library. Digital Playground might have been the first porn studio to use HD in big budget movies. More than 10 years of their archives are available in Full HD quality. Big thumbs up for that. They haven't been as progressive lately though. There is no sign of 4K UHD. The Full HD bitrate is great for streaming, but for downloads (for the DP Premium members) they could add a higher bitrate version.

We've discussed the video scenes so far, but DP has just as many Photo Galleries. The pictures were a pleasant surprise for me, they're sharp, high quality, and awesome. The girls often do a striptease in them, then there's the story part, and finally the hardcore action. There could be some more shots of the action if you ask me, but I was happy with them nevertheless. The photo galleries can be downloaded as ZIPs by every member, no upgrades are needed for those.

The user interface of the members' area is okay. The good things are that it's fast, logical, and it makes it easy to find the scenes of a particular porn star. A downside is that the pagination is quite annoying. After you pick a scene, it jumps back to page one, so exploring their archives takes longer than it should. One more thing I didn't like is that their search keywords are quite incomplete, the older scenes completely miss them.

The site looks great on mobile, and all the functionality is there. The pagination could be better, same as on desktops. Only the lowest resolution version of the movies are available on mobile. It's nice speed-wise and bandwidth-wise, but they should have thought of those who use their phones at home, on a fast wifi, and prefer HD.
Strangely enough, on mobile, you can download these low-res versions videos even with a standard membership. But the photo gallery ZIP download links don't appear on mobile.

The updates are steady. You get a new scene at least every second day. Sometimes there is even more.

Digital Playground has high quality porn, no question about it. In my opinion, it has gone towards the Brazzers style recently, with more individual scenes than multi-scene movies. The membership is a great deal with our discount if you prefer to watch the movies online—you're getting a first class library of DP's titles. If you need the downloads, you have to decide if the total monthly price of $17.97 plus up to $30 is okay for you. If you're a fan, it's acceptable, as the site is probably worth more than getting 2 memberships to other sites. For others, it might not be worth it to upgrade. You don't need to decide right away anyhow, the upgrade can be purchased at any time.
