3rd Degree Films is a long-established and well-respected adult studio that began back in 2002. They are part of the same group that operated Zero Tolerance on Demand (ZTOD), who now go by Zero Tolerance Films, as well as Black Ice. While these studios had continued to produce original content, their websites weren't that great.

There is now some great news! Recently, 3rd Degree Films and Zero Tolerance Films started working with another adult powerhouse, Gamma Entertainment. Now both studios have a state-of-the art website to compliment their top-tier offerings.

The other great news is that 3rd Degree Films members get full access to Zero Tolerance Films, and vice versa. In fact they are served from the same members area now, as two channels.

If you check here at x3guide you'll see that I wrote a review of Zero Tolerance Films recently. I found that site to be a great value by itself. Now, 3rd Degree Films has been added in so you get two sites for the price of one. I've already posted a review of Zero Tolerance Films, I'm going to concentrate specifically on the 3rd Degree Films offerings this time. But keep in mind that some overlap is inevitable.

3rd Degree Films is a mainstream studio. I mean that it puts a lot of top-quality movies out that aim for the heart of the market. While the studio does cover a lot of niches it isn't a site that will appeal to only a narrow subscriber base. Just about anyone will find a lot to like here.

Speaking of niches, as a mainstream porn site 3rd Degree Films covers a lot of them. You'll find girls just over 18, MILFs, lesbian, interracial, anal, cuckolding and more here.

One area that is really well served here is the orgy niche. Between the two studios they have some of the best orgy movies that I've seen, and as a fan of this niche, I've seen a lot of them. Even within the orgy niche you'll find specialized themes. You'll find pool party orgies, interracial orgies, lesbian orgies, big breast orgies and more. With 131 orgy titles available, orgy fans will find a lot to keep them happy here.

At the time of this writing, there is a high proportion of lesbian movies being uploaded. And as with the orgies, these cover different themes. Two themes that are often underserved are “cougars and kittens” and movies that specifically highlight strap-ons. I can't say that these themes will continue, but if they're popular then I'm sure they will be.

One huge advantage that 3rd Degree Films has that will be appreciated by many subscribers is access to a lot of its older titles. 3rd Degree Films has been around for 20 years and made some cutting-edge porn and much of it is available here. I've been a fan of 3rd Degree Films since they began and my collection of their movies has a lot fewer gaps since this site was created. The early era of 3rd Degree Films also had some superstars, and thanks to this new site I've increased the scenes I have with some of them, such as Jenna Haze and Taylor Rain.

I don't want to leave anyone with the impression that 3rd Degree Films is a porn museum and people who want new porn with today's superstars should look elsewhere. That is definitely not the case. 3rd Degree Films has continued to make some great porn with the A-list models working today and those are available here too.

If all you're interested in is the newest stuff, or you only want the 'classics,' or, if you're like me and want a mix, then a 3rd Degree Films membership will be a great value.

Another advantage to the new site for people who want to collect the older titles is that they have been remastered. Most of them now look much better than they did 20 years ago though there are still some that don't look very good. But those are few and I found they only existed among the oldest scenes on the site.

The members area currently has almost 4600 scenes available spread almost evenly between 3rd Degree Films and Zero Tolerance Films channels. I'm concentrating on 3rd Degree Films here though, there are currently 2243 regular scenes in 506 movies in that channel, plus 118 behind-the-scenes videos.

There is a new scene added daily with very few exceptions, though the update could go to either studio. If all you want is what 3rd Degree Films offers here, you'll still get 2-3 new scenes every week. There have been periods in the past when updates were irregular. Those days seem to be in the past and there are now regular and consistent updates.

Since 3rd Degree Films and Zero Tolerance Films teamed up with Gamma Entertainment, the scenes are now offered on an easy-to-use site that works great on all devices from desktop to mobile. Gamma has many sites and they all share a look and functionality. This is good because they're easy to use, and good because if you've been a member at other Gamma sites then this will have a comfortable familiarity to it.

The ways to sort and search are seemingly endless. You can search by scene, by movie or by model. You can sort any of those searches in different ways. All the usual porn tags are here and if all else fails, there is a search feature than will help you. For a smaller site, this might be a bit of overkill, but when you're on a site as large as this, having these different search tools is essential.

Regardless of how you access each scene, once you're there you'll have many quality options for downloading and streaming the video. The models are listed (with thumbnails and links) and if a trailer is available, as it is with the newer videos, you can watch that. Given that the videos range from 2004 to 2022 it should be no surprise that there is some variation in the options. Newer scenes are available in up to eight resolutions while the older scenes are available in four resolutions for downloads. Streaming allows six resolutions for the newer files and four for the older files.

For fans of 4K scenes, those started to be added to all the uploads in early 2020 so you'll have lots of those to like.

As I noted above, I like that 3rd Degree Films put a lot of effort into remastering a lot of their older catalogue. I'm impressed that for most of those older scenes they offer up to 1080p with a 7000 kb/s bitrate. They look great. There is something a bit odd in that around the time when they began offering the 4K resolutions they cut the bitrates on the 1080p down to 4000-5000 kb/s. I'm not sure why this is, but perhaps Gamma's stats show that 1080p has little uptake when 4K is available. Even with this change, the 1080p files look good.

I don't think that I'll hurt the feelings of the good people at 3rd Degree Films when I say that even though there are photo sets available, this site is really more about the videos. But if you do collect photos along with videos, you'll find lots here. Not all of the older titles have photos associated with them, and when there are some, they aren't available as zips. This is an odd oversight since some of these sets can be huge, with up to 400 photos available. For the newer scenes, there are photo sets, as singles and zips for all of them. The set vary in size but a fair guess for an average would be 25 photos per set.

One thing that should be noted about the photos is that there is an almost-four-year gap when no photos were added. Starting in mid-2016 photos were no longer uploaded until they started being added again in early 2020. Resolutions for the newer photos are 1920x1280 while the oldest on the site are 900x600.

While much of this will depend on your own internet connection, I found the download and streaming speeds to be very fast – among the fastest I've seen on similar sites. I've subscribed to a lot of Gamma sites over the years and I have always known them to be class-leading for download speeds and stability. Having access to the extensive 3rd Degree Films back catalogue as well as newer titles meant that I downloaded a lot in preparation for this review and didn't encounter any issues doing so. There is a 300 GB daily download limit in theory, but it's so high that I never managed to reach it.

Billers for the site may vary but they will always be one of the in-house Gamma billers. I have subscribed to Gamma sites probably hundreds of times over the past years and I have never had a problem with billing, account management or cancelling. You can join with confidence.

Are there any serious negatives here? I don't think there are. The site is close to perfect which makes even minor flaws stand out. This isn't common, but it can be a bit annoying. Each movie was released with four scenes and may also have a BTS. In some cases, there is a scene or two missing from the movie. It's even odder when the missing scene is the one with the cover girl.

People who stream will be happy, as will those who download and both will like the multiple resolutions, up to 4K UHD on newer scenes.
