Homegrown Video review

Homegrown Video is a unique site. A lot of the so called amateur porn sites aren't truly amateur. Homegrown Video's has been collecting and sharing real amateur videos from day one.
In the 1980s they were VHS tapes, with the home videos of San Diego swingers. In 1998, they opened the website, which has been a great success too.
Almost 20 years after its launch, Homegrown Video is still here. It just got a new design and interface, so this is the perfect time for a review.

As you would expect, HGV has a big collection. Videos are the main thing, there are currently over 3250 updates. As for the pictures, the ones I saw were screen caps taken from the videos. Hard to say how many updates have pics, our estimate is 750. The site updates once a day, with a video, plus the screen caps.

The ladies are American, most of them are unknown amateurs. They come in all shapes and sizes. There are barely-legal, perfect looking slim blondes, attractive and average looking girls in their 20s and 30s, MILFs, matures, BBWs. The majority of the models are white, there are currently 112 sets tagged with 'Asian', 81 with 'Latina', and 33 sets tagged with the 'Ebony' keyword.

Most of the updates were recorded many years ago. Some of it them never seen before, some are remastered HGV videos. I'm glad they're remastering them, collectors will be happy to save them in a proper format. Don't expect HD quality here, most of the videos are low-end DVD quality, some are VHS quality. You can both download them, and watch them online.

The common theme is amateur content, but there are several different flavors. I found these the most common:

The new user interface is nice. It works great on all devices, from desktop to mobile. The layout is logical, the pages load quickly, and the video player is quick too. There are lots of keywords added to each scene, and the search system works well. The daily download limit is gone, you can download as much as you want now. You can also save updates for later viewing, with the Favorite, Like, and Watch Later buttons.
There is one downside I came across, I didn't get great download speeds (1-2MB/s). It's not too annoying, as the movies are relatively small (200-500MB for the higher quality version files), and you can boost your speeds by downloading multiple files/using multiple threads.

Homegrown Video is a legend among amateur porn sites, with a huge library. I recommend it to the lovers of true amateurs. You get the real deal here, but their content is mostly old, they're low quality compared to today's porn flicks. If you're okay with that, and you haven't been a member yet, you'll love their collection. Vintage porn fans will also appreciate the site.
