PurgatoryX is a hardcore porn paysite with various fantasies and themes. It has exclusive, high quality scenes, and a twist to help them stand out.

Scenes are classed as either being Heaven or Hell. Two beautiful roommates connecting and making love certainly fall on the heaven side of that divide, while a wife cheating on or cuckolding her husband better aligns with hell. Purgatory X has a pulldown menu called “Filter By” to select either “Heaven” or “Hell” scenes, but to be honest there really are only nuance differences between them.

PurgatoryX has various themes that are more original than most productions. There is breeding at the doctor’s office, sex with the dentist or the sexy hairdresser, clergy themes, sex in a shop, and so on. There are many scenes with threesomes, cheating, and cuckolding.
When it comes to taboo fantasies, many think of the stepfamily taboo these days. There are a few stepmom scenes here, but stepfamily porn is not a primary focus at PurgatoryX at all. That’s great news if you like taboo, but not stepfamily taboo.

Another innovative technique used by Purgatory X is that many of their scenes are grouped into trilogies, with a common theme running through them. Within a specific theme, there may be a G/G scene, a B/G scene, and a B/G/G scene. I find that the continuity through a trilogy makes the scenes more interesting.

Purgatory X has mainstream sex, and I’m not stating that as a negative. While some of the themes falling under the category of “Hell”, can be a bit dark, such as cuckolding or being seduced by a clergyman, I would argue that the scenes are mainstream because there is no BDSM or niche fetish porn here. You’ll find B/G, G/G, B/G/G, and B/B/G, without any extreme kinks that push the limits.

In the interest of providing as much information to readers as possible, “standard” B/G scenes predominate here at Purgatory X, with G/G coming in at a distant second. There are 39 threesomes at the moment, and a few scenes with larger groups.

“Fantasies” is a good word to describe the scenes. While I wouldn’t classify these scenes as being truly plot-based like what MissaX, All Her Luv, or Pure Taboo produce, they certainly aren’t gonzo as well. Your own preferences may be different, but while I like gonzo scenes, I also like scenes that have a bit of a storyline to explain why the stars are having sex. I also like when there is a bit of sexual tension set up, and Purgatory X delivers this well, without letting the storyline take too long or otherwise interfere with the sex. To put it simply, in my opinion, Purgatory X has struck a good balance between storyline and sex.

If anything about Purgatory X does push the limits, it’s their high production values. Any member who watches just one scene will be immediately struck by the attention to detail that this studio brings to the scenes. The scripts, the acting, the lighting, the sound, and postproduction editing, are all top-notch. Purgatory X is a highly professional studio, and that professionalism is reflected in all their scenes.

I’m sure there is a direct connection between the quality of work that Purgatory X does and their ability to attract top talent, both female and male. Purgatory X features many of the top porn stars today. Most of them are American, with a few exceptions. Some of the names are Angela White, Kenzie Reeves, Elsa Jean, Karma Rx, Aidra Fox, Whitney Wright, Autumn Falls, Ashley Adams, Lena Paul, Gianna Dior, Jilly Kassidy, Valentina Nappi, and Anissa Kate.

Purgatory X had 178 scenes at the time of this review, with a new scene being added every two weeks. I know some avid porn collectors will think that two scenes per month is too few, but I appreciate the effort that goes into each of the scenes. When I first encountered Purgatory X, I was immediately struck by their quality. Some readers are apt to share my opinion that I’ll take this level of quality over quantity any time.

A membership at Purgatory X gives members the option to download and stream all the scenes. It’s worth noting that while many adult sites these days have tiered memberships where the basic membership permits only streaming and downloads require an additional fee, Purgatory X has opted to include everything in the price.

Given the overall quality of the scenes produced by Purgatory X, I’m a bit surprised that they don’t offer 4K. I found it randomly at one scene, so hopefully it’s coming soon. I realize that this will be a negative for some readers, but I can report that their 1920p Full HD scenes look great.

When downloading and streaming, I had no issue with interruptions or stuttering. While your own internet connection will be a decisive factor here, I did find download speeds to be lower than what I’m used to seeing with competitor sites. My download speeds were consistently about 50% of what I’m used to seeing elsewhere. However, I have a high-speed connection so even with 50% of usual, it’s still more than acceptable. Also, these slower download speeds didn’t translate into any difficulties with streaming the videos.

Purgatory X also offers both great photos, and also screenshots for each scene. The photo sets can be accessed through each scene’s page, as well as through a separate tab. The team’s photographer takes great hardcore photos, and the resolutions are pretty good too. I think they’re a bit overcompressed, they would look even better if they let the jpg file sizes to be a bit larger, but they look good nevertheless.
I’ve pegged the average size of photo sets at 30, though that’s just an educated guess given that the photo sets range from approximately 10 photos, to over 60. The photo sets are available as single photos and as zips.

Screenshots are available as well, though only as singles. These come at the resolution of the videos, 1920x1080. Clicking on the screenshot button opens a separate page where the viewer can then click through to any of the hundreds of screen caps. There is a ribbon of screencaps at the bottom as well.

The site is simple, well laid out, and easy to use on all devices. Every essential feature works well, but there aren’t any advanced features. For a library this size, that’s okay. Overall, PurgatoryX allows users to sort scenes by upload date and popularity. There is a filter for “Heaven” and “Hell” scenes, but as I said, this is more of a gimmick. Another option is browsing the Trilogies page or Model index. Speaking of model pages, one feature I quite like is that on many of those pages, some background information is given, such as measurements, birth date, birth location, and similar. While this information isn’t available in every model, it’s appreciated when it is included.

Tags aren’t shown on the scene pages, but they do add them to the scenes. You can use the search function to get a list of all scenes matching a tag. It works well, but it would be better to see all tags for every scene and a full list of keywords on an advanced search page.

In the interest of providing a well-rounded review and as much information to a reader as possible, I’ll always point out a site’s flaws as well. Apart from not offering 4K and the slower pace of updates, Purgatory X doesn’t have any obvious flaws. The quality of Purgatory X doesn’t surprise me, however. It would be unusual, but not unheard of, for a site to produce top-quality scenes and then be let down by a flawed site. Here at Purgatory X, these excellent scenes are made available on an excellent site.

The membership price will probably make you quite happy too. If you use the link at x3guide to join, the first month only costs $9.95. Even at full price, the number of scenes, the frequency of updates, and especially the top-quality that Purgatory X offers in those scenes, it would be good value. However, when you add in this big discount, it turns a good value into something that should have many readers reaching for their credit cards.

If you’ve read through my entire review of Purgatory X, it won’t be any surprise that I’m highly recommending that anyone interested in top-quality porn scenes with some of the top stars check it out. It’s a relatively large site featuring mainstream scenes that aren’t the usual “cookie-cutter” style scenes found at many larger sites. There’s a uniqueness to these scenes and they feature hot taboo setups.
