Dire Desires review

Dire Desires is an All-Black Porn Paysite featuring Pro-Am Scenes shot by the male porn star Jayy Alexis. Prior to reviewing this site, I wasn’t familiar with Alexis, or his work, but after spending some time browsing around his site and watching what he’s offering, I can declare myself a fan.

While Jayy Alexis appears in enough scenes on his own site to be considered a professional porn star, the site itself is still all about Pro-Am models, with a heavy emphasis on amateur. I’ve been an active porn buyer and subscriber for a long time, and I don’t recognize any of the models here as being professionals.

It’s important that readers note that while Alexis markets this site as Pro-Am, and while all the models he hires are amateurs, the technical aspects of the scenes are anything but amateur. The production values here are what you would expect from a professional studio. The sets, lighting, sound, camerawork, and post-production editing are all at the professional level. This isn’t a horny couple filming themselves having sex on a camera phone. The only thing “amateur” about Dire Desires are the models. In my opinion, Dire Desires captures the best of both worlds, professional and amateur. Unknown models in professionally shot scenes make this a hot site.

All the models here, including Jayy Alexis, are black. All-black porn sites are relatively rare, and I appreciate any site that steps into this niche and does it as well as Dire Desires does.

Dire Desires currently has 150 scenes and updates regularly with a new scene each week. The scenes, which date back to February 2020, initially started out focusing entirely on the sex, as there wasn’t a plot in most of the scenes. The plot, if one could describe it is that, was simply that Alexis had recruited an attractive woman to shoot a scene with him. It’s that simple. As the site progresses, that simple reason for shooting a scene still exists, but Alexis has also started to shoot some scenes with simple plots, and often built around a theme. In my opinion, these simple plots and themes don’t add or detract to the scenes, because the sex itself, which is what most of us are subscribing to see, is always hot.

The scenes at Dire Desires are all relatively mainstream hardcore, and that’s not meant as a negative. Subscribers will see scenes featuring the same kinds of sex that they can see on thousands of other sites. There’s foreplay with sloppy blowjobs, sex, and money shots.

Dire Desires describes itself as bringing real passion to its scenes, and, in my opinion, they hit this target. Whatever the reason, and I suspect it has to do mostly with hiring amateur and unknown models, the sex has more of a “real” feel to it than fully professional studio scenes with known models. For me, and I’m sure for many other readers, that real, natural feel to the sex is a big selling point for Dire Desires.

The scenes vary in length but average around 30 minutes each.

The models that Dire Desires are all relative unknowns, but most fit into the standard porn model mould, namely 20-something, relatively petite, attractive Black women. It’s fair to say that while most of the models fit that standard mould, there are a lot of models here who will appeal to subscribers who like thicker models with curves too. Breast sizes vary quite a bit from small to naturally large, and some models support a few tattoos while others are heavily inked. In other words, there are apt to be multiple models on Dire Desires to appeal to just about every taste.

Dire Desires currently features scenes with around 80 models. With that large number of girls, any subscriber is apt to find many models who interest him or her.

The site is laid out in a logical way. Scenes can be sorted by date and there are seven common porn categories that subscribers can use to filter scenes as well. What Dire Desires calls categories are what many other sites would call tags. Oddly, Dire Desires only has seven of these categories, and many scenes are missing even from those.
There is also a search function, but it is limited to the scene description as the scenes don’t use tags.
It’s fair to say that the categories/tags and search are not very helpful at DireDesires currently. That being said, there isn’t a lot of kink that needs to be sorted here, so it’s not that big of a deal.

Dire Desires offers downloads and streaming with all subscriptions. I’ve listed the available resolutions in the Videos section. Dire Desires has made an unusual choice regarding downloads. Each scene is only downloadable in one resolution. Older scenes are only available in 1080p, while newer scenes are only available in 4K. In my opinion, the site could improve by offering more options. Both 1080P and 4K, and a lower resolution version should be available for those with slower connections. I think that by only offering some scenes in 4K, Dire Desires runs the risk of alienating some subscribers. Some subscribers, me included, prefer to avoid 4K because of the file sizes. I’d prefer to have the 1080p resolution available on the newer scenes to have smaller files.

Readers should note that while I’ve listed both 1080p and 4K in the download resolutions below, only one of those will be available for each scene.

To make the download resolution decision even more unusual, is the fact that for streaming, all scenes offer multiple resolutions. Resolutions as low as 360p are available. In scenes where 4K is the download resolution, 4K will also be available for streaming.

Dire Desires is a video site, it doesn’t have any real photos. The site has started offering screenshot sets with most of the newer scenes - those are pictures captured from the videos. Of the 150 updates offered here, approximately 27 of them currently offer screenshot sets. They can be viewed online and downloaded as ZIPs. Both are available in only one resolution, 3000x1688. The size of each set varies widely with some sets having approximately 25 screenshots with others offering over 100, so I’ve pegged the average at 60.
While most of the newer scenes, those uploaded in 2024, have an associated screenshot set, there are a few exceptions where screenshots aren’t available.

The biggest negative that I found with Dire Desires is a daily download limit of 10 videos. I’m never a fan of download limits, but I can tolerate a reasonable daily limit. I don’t see a daily limit of 10 scenes as being reasonable though. While Dire Desires doesn’t wrongly advertise unlimited downloads, but it doesn’t mention the limit either. The download limit can be annoying, but at the end of the day I’m happy that the downloads are included in all memberships.

In addition to the subscriptions, the site also offers you to buy individual scenes. I don’t recommend buying single scenes, an all-access subscription is a much better deal. You can buy a whole month of full access to the entire library for the price of a single scene.

My bottom-line opinion is that Dire Desires offers some excellent, black-themed porn with new beautiful models in well-shot scenes, with some smaller bad technical decisions they’ve made. While I have no reason to think that my review will influence the site, the decision to offer downloads in one resolution only and to have a restrictive daily download limit could be easily changed. I’ve always written my site reviews from the perspective of a reader who is looking for useful information prior to subscribing, and I’d still recommend anyone who is interested in what Dire Desires offers to join, knowing the limitations the site imposes.

One major positive for potential subscribers to Dire Desires that goes a long way to offsetting some of the unusual choices the site has made, is that they offer a great price with the 50% discount applied (use this link) for the discount. I have no hesitation in recommending that anyone who is interested in what Dire Desires offers sign up and enjoy the scenes.
